Where are Brisbane Garden Wedding Locations?
Brisbane has more than 1000 parks – ranging from small neighbourhood parks to the iconic Roma Street Parkland, South Bank Parklands, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens and City Botanic Gardens. A small number of these parks have designated areas for weddings, some with a rotunda or other shelter and also offer convenient locations for wedding photography.
During the weekend, particularly on a Saturday afternoon, it may be hard to book the area you want unless you book well ahead, but they are all public spaces, so if your ceremony is an elopement with just you and your two witnesses, or you are having a no-fuss intimate ceremony and so your guest list is small and you are relatively flexible about moving to another part of the park if you turn up and find that the area you planned to use is already in use, for weekday wedding you may decide not to book.
On more popular days for weddings, particularly Saturday afternoon in the more popular sites, it is advisable to book because only a firm booking will allow you to ask people to move out of the site. You cannot ask them to move out of sight or earshot because parks are public places.
You can book specific areas within these parks for your wedding ceremony, commitment ceremony, renewal of vows ceremony, baby naming ceremony or other event.
Please note that
(limited street parking with parking meters 7 days a week, commercial parking garages expensive and some distance away, no vehicle access, so bridal party will have to walk to the ceremony site)
(no toilets or other facilities, no vehicle access, parking on cliffs above)
(Long walk to sites from carpark. Access for bridal vehicles can be arranged)
